Hyundai Announces Sponsorship of the Miami Dolphins
Last year was Hyundai’s first year as an official NFL sponsor and also its most successful Super Bowl campaign. Who can blame the automaker for making the decision to sign a sponsorship deal with one of the NFL’s biggest, most beloved teams: the Miami Dolphins? The Dolphins join Hyundai’s roster as the fifth team the automaker currently sponsors. The other teams are the Arizona Cardinals, the Houston Texans, the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
So what does that sponsorship entail? One of the perks is that for the 2016 season, Hyundai will have three of its vehicles on display at every Dolphins home game, and will have entitlement to the exclusive “Hyundai Club”, a separate, air-conditioned space designed by the Rockwell Group to be the perfect spot for hanging out and before, during and after the game with friends and family. It goes without saying that it’s also the best pre-gaming lounge you’ll ever find.
“We are excited to partner with Hyundai on this multi-year agreement,” Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Todd Kline told the press. “Hyundai is a global brand investing in the growth of Miami and South Florida through the Miami Dolphins business and community initiatives.”
“Once renovations are complete, the Hyundai Club at the north sideline and additional new features within the stadium will continue to make our venue a global iconic destination poised to host Dolphins football, concerts and world class events,” Kline continued.
By extension of its NFL sponsorship, Hyundai will also be the official sponsor of the Coach’s Show, the Dolphin’s “insider show” that airs every Sunday morning during the season from 11 – 11:30am.
The sponsorship extends to philanthropic causes as well: the Miami Dolphin’s Thanksgiving meal distribution program, the lead vehicle for the official start of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, will also fall under Hyundai’s sponsorship. Last year, the Dolphins were able to distribute over 5,500 meals and help more than 10,000 people as part of the program.
“Hyundai’s experiential marketing programs are created to tap into the localized passion that NFL fans share with their teams,” Trea Reedy, senior group manager, experiential marketing at Hyundai Motor America, explained. “By creating a Hyundai-driven experience for fans as they watch their team compete at the highest level, we aim to engage in the local communities and drive awareness of Hyundai vehicles.”
