2017 Elantra Sport
For their newest version of the Elantra, Hyundai’s stalwart compact sedan, the automaker put out a very stylish and downright amazing Elantra Sport that is somewhat set to take the world by storm. Now, not too long ago Hyundai revamp their sixth generation Elantra in a pretty huge way, pushing for a 128 horsepower 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that works to get approximately 40 miles per gallon according to the EPA. However, this time, the automaker has taken that idea even further with regard to the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport.
That is to say, what Hyundai have done with the 2017 Elantra Sport possibly can be surmised with one phrase: more power. In other words, Hyundai noted that the new Elantra Sport will share the Sonata sedan and Veloster hatchback powertrains pushed by an engine that warrants 201 horsepower and 191 pounds per square foot of torque, which makes the Sport the most powerful Elantra to date. This new engine is coupled with your choice of either a six-speed manual transmission (which is standard) or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic (which is also adapted from the Sonata lineup).
What’s Inside?
As far as the interior is concerned with regard to the 2017 Elantra Sport, Hyundai have stuck pretty much with a mostly black theme, which works very well to reinforce the “sport” concept of the vehicle. Too, there are loads of features here. This includes the likes of heated leather sort seats (along with awesome looking red stitching), a seven inch center dash touch screen display, a Hyundai audio system, your choice of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, a nice (i.e., sporty) looking gauge cluster, alloy-faced foot pedals with rubber inserts, a leather-wrapped shifter, and an equally sporty looking D-shaped steering wheel (which, mind you, is also wrapped in perforated leather).
Elantra Sport Packages
As far as packages are concerned, there is only one option: the Premium package (which will cost you an extra $2,400). This will add an eight inch center screen with navigation technology, an eight-speaker Infinity premium audio system Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity system, a power tilt-slide sunroof, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane departure correction.
All in all, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport is a huge upgrade for the automaker as far as their compact sedan segment is concerned.
