Hyundai’s SUV lineup Shake-up Begins with the New Santa Fe SUV
This year, Hyundai is ready to show the automotive industry what its SUV lineup is really made of.
The automaker recently announced plans to double its SUV lineup over the next three years in response to rising demand for larger vehicles across the global market. That means you can expect to see eight different Hyundai SUV models at Hyundai dealerships near you by 2020. The automaker plans to release a new SUV model in each of its five size segments.
The company is already making good on its promise for fast progress–the compact Kona SUV was released in 2017 and the Nexo, a revolutionary fuel cell vehicle, debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV earlier this year.
Hyundai’s immediate strategy involves releasing the fourth-generation model of its trademark Santa Fe SUV this year. After all, the Santa Fe is the vehicle that really has people talking. The popular SUV has proven itself to be one of the most versatile, family-friendly vehicles on the market.
“We hope that the new Santa Fe will create a strong sales storm in the global SUV stage beyond the domestic market, as well as boost our brand image one step higher,” Lee Kwang-guk, vice president of Hyundai, said during a recent brand presentation. “I am sure that the new Santa Fe will be a masterpiece in the mid-sized SUV segment, satisfying and impressing customers deeply.”
We tend to agree with Kwang-guk’s use of the word “masterpiece” to describe the new Santa Fe.
The new Hyundai Santa Fe features a ton of upgrades and exciting new features which are sure to make it your favorite new Hyundai for sale when it debuts on our lot later this year.
The new SUV will be available with three engines, including a 232-horsepower turbocharged gas engine and a 200-horsepower turbodiesel engine. Of course, the standard 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine (which generates a respectable 185-horsepower) will still be available as well. All three engines come mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
But we suspect that drivers (and passengers) will be most excited by the new Santa Fe’s amazing interior upgrades. A new horizontal interior layout makes the SUV even roomier than before and design tweaks, including repositioned cup holders, improved elbow- and leg-room, and an upgraded 7-inch audio/visual/navigation system, make the Santa Fe’s emphasis on passenger comfort one of its major selling points.
And drivers are sure to love the vehicle’s new 8.5-inch head-up display featuring information including cruise control status, blind spot warning, forward collision alert, speed limit, lane departure warning, and audio system information.
The new 2019 Santa Fe is the perfect vehicle to jump-start Hyundai’s lineup shake-up and show consumers what they can expect from future Hyundai vehicles. Visit your local Hyundai dealership today for more information about the 2019 Santa Fe SUV.
