Adventure is the Theme of the Hyundai “Adventuremobile”
Visitors to the Specialty Equipment Market Association annual trade show always get to see spectacular, tricked out versions of their favorite models of cars and trucks. The 2015 SEMA event was no exception. The most recent show held this month at the Las Vegas Convention center in Las Vegas NV, had something especially exciting for us here at Rosen Hyundai, Hyundai fans in general and lovers of the great outdoors in particular.
In addition to the Tucson model which got made over by the folks at Rockstar Performance Garage, the Hyundai booth was the spot to see a second Tucson model with a tent on top. Dubbed the Adventuremobile, this rugged looking crossover was created in partnership with John Pangilinan. This is the crossover for folks who like to get away from the sometimes suffocating confines of the city and head to the woods for weekends of splendid isolation. This modified Tucson features a roof mounted tent and other camping equipment for roughing it in style.
The Hyundai Tucson Adventure by John Pangilinan features a lift of an inch and a half, Toyo Open Country A/T II tires and a Treeline Tamarack tent for two. Painted a stealthy army green, this Hyundai looks rough, rugged and ready to find that isolated campsite way off road with a 1.6 liter I4 engine to propel itself up those steep inclines.
The vehicle is also fitted with solar panels from Goal Zero to soak up the rays and use them to power a Yeti 400 generator. Other modifications include an AEM intake and charge pipe kit, custom suspension lift and a Wilwood custom brake kit. On the interior, the leather upholstery is from Katzin Custom, matching army green seat belts come from Planet Custom, with a stereo system from BP Auto Sound. On the outside the BASF Army Green paint job is courtesy of Strasse Sport.
