2017 Elantra Comes in New Value Edition
Hyundai will be lighting up this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show with the sleek all-new 2017 Elantra GT. The refreshed Elantra, which comes in a new Value Edition trim level for the thrifty consumer, is more sophisticated and sporty than ever.
The Elantra brand has always been a crowd favorite here at Rosen Hyundai. It boasts the highest rankings in its segment for “initial quality” according to J.D. Power’s 2014 studies and is one of the most well-designed vehicles on the market today. While the 2016 models have a definite sculptural yet fluid feel to them, the newest models are drawing comparisons to uber-refined European sedans. It’s inside, though, where the 2017 Elantra GT really shines.
The updates start with the newly available Apple Carplay and Android Auto systems, which ramp up connectivity way beyond what the 2016 Elantra models offered. Leather seats, a leather steering wheel cover, and a leather shift knob lend the car a distinct air of luxury. Other updated features include keyless entry with push-button start, fog lights, a power driver’s seat, automatic headlights, 17-inch wheels, an auto-up driver’s window, heated front seats, and a sliding armrest. The Elantra GT Value Edition (with an automatic-only transmission) will run you as little as $20,635. Now that’s a deal.
Hyundai is offering the Value Edition with roughly $1,000 of savings thanks to its bundle of attractive features, which also include a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, chrome beltline moldering, aluminum entrance sills and side mirror turn signals.
All of that comes standard with a 1.8-liter engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, hill start assist control, automatic headlamps, air conditioning with cabin filter, dual power-heated outside mirrors, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, a color display, rear view camera, 60/40 split-folding rear seat and six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with 90-day Sirius satellite radio trial.
The Elantra is the kind of sedan thrifty shoppers dream of: it offers consumers the chance to enjoy luxurious interiors, solid tech specs, and power under the hood without sacrificing their wallets.
Of course, if you decide to opt for the slightly pricier Limited or Sport trim levels, you’ll get to choose between the 1.8-liter naturally aspirated, 145-horsepower four-cylinder engine or the 2.0-liter 173-horsepower engine. Either the six-speed manual or automatic transmission is available, no matter your choice.
