Google Home can Start your Sonata?
When we were kids and watched Back to the Future II for the first time, the most amazing thing about the film, was how the future looked, how technology progressed, what (positive and negative) effects such a thing had on us, how we learned to use such new techs—it was all fascinating. There was a wall of TVs, a hydrator that rehydrated a dehydrated pizza in seconds, something akin to what looks like Google Glass for a telephone, and even a house that would dispense food to you (in this case, fruit) by simply asking. This, to me, was the first time I ever experienced what we now term the “smart house,” and such a thing seems to be where the next big step in technology is heading if you look at this year’s CES (a consumer electronics show) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Those of us at Rosen Hyundai are pretty excited about future plans with Google Home and Hyundai.
This, of course, is all predicated on the emergence of Google Home, a device that the mega-corporation terms as a “smart speaker and home assistant.” Technology like Google Home (as well as things like Amazon’s Alexa) are the closest we have to something like the smart house from Back to the Future II, and the good folks over at Hyundai are working to make this even better. That is to say, Hyundai recently made the announcement that, in the near future, owners will be able to command their vehicles via the Google Home device through their Blue Link technology.
And what exactly is Hyundai’s Blue Link technology? Well, essentially this is a platform that will allow users to do things such as lock, unlock, and even start their vehicles remotely from any location. What the automaker looks to do, then, is to integrate such a technology with that of Google Home, allowing for owners to do these various things (as well as a few others) via the Google device.
As is always the case, keep checking back in here with us over at your Algonquin Hyundai dealer for more information with regard to Hyundai’s Blue Link technology as well as such a thing’s integration with the likes of Google Home.
