Heralding a new era in Hyundai design, the IONIQ 5 boasts ‘Parametric Dynamics’ and the luxurious ‘Living Space’ theme. See why the IONIQ is internationally award-winning now at Rosen Algonquin!
IONIQ 5 Takes Home the Awards
At the annual ceremony held at the New York International Auto Show, the Hyundai electric car was awarded three highly prestigious honors. The all-electric crossover was named overall World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year. The IONIQ 5 was considered alongside 27 competitor models launched in 2021. Ultimately, the IONIQ 5 claimed victory over other finalists in all three categories in which it was nominated. 102 automotive journalists from 33 countries around the world made up the award jury.
Since its launch in 2021, IONIQ 5 has won numerous accolades. These include German Car of the Year, UK Car of the Year, Auto Express’ Car of the Year and Auto Bild’s Electric Car of the Year.
Why the IONIQ Stands Out
The IONIQ 5 is built on an intelligent battery platform that can be modified for different powertrain configurations. Therefore, these modifications give you more miles, more muscle, and more options. You have the choice of a rear-wheel drive option powered by a single 168kW motor. This motor would include 225 hp and 300 miles of IONIQ 5 range. Looking for more performance? Check out the HTRAC All-Wheel Drive with 74kW and 165kW motors that belt out 320 hp yet still give you an efficient 269-mile range. The starting IONIQ 5 price is $39,950, and its electric capability saves you time and money at the gas pump.
IONIQ Leads Hyundai’s Electric Future
The IONIQ 5’s success leads the way for Hyundai’s transition to an electric future. As Hyundai Motor transforms into a smart mobility solutions provider, the company is accelerating its electrification strategy to become the world’s leading EV maker. Hyundai plans to introduce 17 new BEV models by 2030, including Genesis luxury brand models. Hyundai also aims to boost annual global BEV sales to 1.87 million units by 2030.
