In San Diego a few months ago, Hyundai officially launched the media campaign for their new 2017 Elantra, and the interest was high, to say the least. Here, the automaker noted that the democratization of technology will allow for advanced manufacturing techniques to become more accessible. This knowledge in hand, Hyundai noted that they were starting from the bottom and completely re-tooling the Elantra. And now, finally, the reviews are in, and, honestly, they are certainly on the bright side of things.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the exterior. The new 2017 Hyundai Elantra is quite the looker in that the automaker decided to give the vehicle a sleek, clean new makeover. That is, the new Elantra body is quite sharp. But looks are not all this new body is for\u2014the new looks also make the vehicle far more aerodynamic, providing a drag coefficient of .27 (which, in all honesty, is quite better than a Porsche 911 Turbo). The 2017 Elantra\u2019s interior follows this same pattern as well. That is, the interior has a more simple, cleaner design that really pops.<\/p>\n

One area where the new 2017 Hyundai Elantra really shines, though, is in its tech department. It is such an exceptional area for the vehicle, that I feel compelled to simply list what all you would be getting upon purchasing a new 2017 Hyundai Elantra. For starters, the touchscreen has received an upgrade from 4.3 inches to 7.0 inches, which is, for all intents and purposes, absolutely huge. Those models equipped with a navigation system, however, get a little more of a boost with an 8-inch screen. Nevertheless, no matter what size screen you end up getting, all 2017 Elantras come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Too, all Elantras come built with an eight-speaker Infinity stereo with Clari-Fi music restoration technology. And these are special features, I have not even started going into the basics. That is, every Elantra already comes packaged with two USB ports, heated leather seats (front and back), a power sunroof, Smart Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Assist, a hands-free trunk, Lane Keep Assist, as well as Hyundai\u2019s Blue Link Connected Car System. Not to mention the some 110.2 cubic feet of cargo volume (which beats both the 2016 Ford Focus and the Mazda3). And at a base price of just $17,150, that is an incredible deal, to say the least.<\/p>\n

The 2017 Elantra will offer you the option of choosing between two powertrains: first, there is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with around 147 horsepower and 132 pounds-feet of torque. Second, there is a 1.4-liter with 128 horsepower and around 156 pounds-feet of torque.<\/p>\n
