Ladies and gentlemen, mark your calendars, because Hyundai has recently announced that the automaker plans to reveal it\u2019s third generation hatchback<\/a>, the 2017 i30, at the Paris Motor Show. Now, rumors always abound in the automotive industry, and rumor has it that Hyundai\u2019s new i30 model will be offered up in three different types: a five door hatchback model, an estate model, and a four door coup\u00e9 model<\/a> that will particularly have its sites set on the European market. Of course, it is Hyundai\u2019s hope that the new 2017 i30 will present the Volkswagen Golf with its best competition.<\/p>\n

Now, the Paris Motor Show has a long and storied history of reveals in its past. Usually held during the month of October, the Paris Motor Show is easily one of the most important automotive shows still going today, and it is often where many automakers choose to unveil new production models or concept cars. It is always a spectacle\u2014always garnering an intense amount of media attention, which means it is always a good avenue to take in order to get your new vehicle model or concept over with potential buyers and\/or dealers.<\/p>\n

Still, the breakout star of Hyundai\u2019s new 2017 i30 line will more than likely be the model\u2019s performance version, which, as Hyundai have previously noted, will be the automaker\u2019s first street legal model to come out of their N Performance sub-brand. This will be Hyundai\u2019s gold goose, so to speak, with regard to competing with the likes of Volkswagen\u2019s Golf GTI. Word is, the i30 N performance model will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, boasting a rumored top speed of 155 miles per hour. Too, it is also rumored that the i30 N performance vehicle will share technology with the likes of Hyundai\u2019s i20-based WRC rally car, which was also built by the N Performance section.<\/p>\n

It is probably safe to say, given the current state of any automaker\u2019s hybrid division, that a hybrid version of the new i30 is perhaps inevitable. Now, again, this is strictly a rumor, but word has it that the hybrid version of the i30 will use technology gleamed from Hyundai\u2019s impressive Ioniq hybrid vehicle, which combines the i30\u2019s 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor to push for around 79 miles per gallon.<\/p>\n
