Rosen Hyundai is pleased to announce that fans of the Hyundai Sonata<\/a> will definitely not <\/em>be disappointed by the 2018 model. The new, refreshed Sonata blends everything drivers love about the Hyundai brand with some fun, fresh features to create a vehicle that\u2019s family-friendly but never frumpy. The new Sonata<\/a> debuted last month at the New York International Auto Show to immediate praise.<\/p>\n

One of the most exciting updates to the new Hyundai Sonata is to the vehicle\u2019s classic exterior: a new \u201ccascading grille\u201d gives the car a total makeover from all angles. Sporting a more assertive profile and a streamlined rear, the 2018 Sonata\u2019s redesign is all about crisp coolness and classic, clean lines.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all about making an impact,\u201d Chris Chapman, chief designer for Hyundai North American Design Center, said in a recent statement. \u201cWe wanted to deliver an exciting, expressive car to our customers and show the world how passionate Hyundai is about design and craftsmanship. The objective was to make an impact\u2013this design provides the visual excitement and unique identity our customers associate with Sonata.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the new Hyundai Sonata, small touches are key to create a big overall shift in the vehicle\u2019s traditional appearance. New LED daytime running lights supplement the changes to the car\u2019s shape and sharp, re-designed taillights cap off the look in the back. An enlarged Hyundai badge now houses the trunk release button and chrome accents surround the daylight opening, drawing the eye down to the Sonata\u2019s flashy new 18-inch wheel designs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe moment the pen left the drafting paper, I knew we had something special in this re-imagined Sonata<\/a>,\u201d Chapman says. \u201cDynamic lines, strong graphics, and our new signature cascading grille come together in an athletic way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inside, the hits just keep coming. Immediately, drivers will notice the Sonata\u2019s new center console and instrument panel\u2013each have been redesigned to emphasize sleekness and to carry through the vehicle\u2019s new, sophisticated attitude from the exterior to the cabin. A cool three-spoke steering wheel, new gauge dial design and piano key buttons to control audio and HVAC all combine to round out the new premium design language.<\/p>\n

Under the hood, the new Hyundai Sonata features a 245 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new engine set-up adds ratio range at both the top and bottom of the vehicle\u2019s output speeds and the new eight-speed transmission allows for some extra thrust and a quieter, more fuel-efficient ride.<\/p>\n
