Is A Ghost Haunting Your Car This Halloween?
Everyone has heard of haunted graveyards and historic homes where spirits linger, but what’s not as publicized are all the strange occurrences and intriguing incidences that happen in the most unexpected places—right inside vehicles.
Maybe you heard the car door slam shut, just once, but no one else was around. Or you noticed that the headlights always seem to come on, even when you’re not in the car. A strange scent—was it perfume—lingered in seat just a little to long and odd noises came from the radio. Perhaps it was just one of these episodes, or maybe many of them. But what does it tell you?
Could it be that there’s something supernatural about your car? Now, it might not be as volatile as Stephen King’s possessed car, Christine, but sometimes even the seemingly smallest unexplainable accounts can be hints left by the paranormal.
However, with the move towards autonomous automobiles and technology constantly being improved in sedans and SUVs alike, don’t jump to conclusions just because your car started itself and or suddenly turns cold/hot. Maybe your spouse used the spare set of keys to start the car in the morning, warming it up for you. Or maybe you mistakenly hit the climate controls and that’s why the temperature shot up or down.
But if these occurrences aren’t a one-time deal, it’s time to consider someone’s trying to get in touch with you, or tell you something. If you’re unsure whether your car just needs to be serviced, it’s time to trade-in ole’ Betsey or if there’s a true haunting happening in your Hyundai, here’s a few tips on how to tell:
- Unexplainable Noises – There are certain sounds cars just don’t make, no matter whether you drive a gas-powered vehicle or a hybrid. Noises that sound like kids laughing (when there’s no one in the backseat), a woman screaming and rapid knocking. Even sounds of the engine revving when the car is turned off and odd radio frequencies should not be taken lightly.
- Lights Turning On and Off – Though this occurrence is more uncommon, it happens nonetheless and can even be accompanied with radios and cameras being switched on and off.
- Items Disappearing and Reappearing – Sometimes we misplace objects or they slide into cracks and under the seat. And sometimes they are moved, hidden and returned. If commonly-used items, such as wallets, sunglasses, CDs or even your car keys, disappear and then reappear, it just might be that a spirit borrowing them.
- Feeling of Being Touched – No one is in the back kicking your chair, but you still feel an unexplainable nudge. No one is in the passengers seat but something brushes your arm. These unsettling feelings might be a ghost playing games on you.
- Unexplainable Smells – We’re not talking about funky car smells here, but the fragrance of distinctive colognes or perfumes (and no, not after grandma has been in the car). If scents such as these are accompanied with other undetermined events, such as seeing shadows and hearing voices, it might be time for a séance.
- Apparitions and Orbs – Could your used vehicle have a residual, or even intelligent, haunting? It’s highly unlikely, especially here at Rosen Hyundai, but there’s always a chance something happened with a previous owner that caused a spirit to stick around. If there are sightings of a figure manifesting itself in a mirror and suddenly vanishing, or photos taken in the car showing expressions of energy (orbs), it’s possible a rare phenomena is taking place inside your vehicle.
If your current car has more than a little bad mojo, head over to Rosen Hyundai where a line up of new 2018 Hyundai models await. Ghosts haven’t gotten into any of these vehicles (yet), so stop by and we’ll help you pick the perfect ride just in time for Halloween.
